Florian Cordes

As Head of European IP Litigation for Key Patent Innovations, Florian is responsible for providing legal and strategic advice to management and coordinates litigation efforts for the enforcement of all patent portfolios. Florian is focused on patent coverage, patent strength, the advantages of the different legal systems and the available legal means in various jurisdictions. Florian also supports licensing and/or settlement discussions and closely follows legal and IPR policy developments as well as industry trends. 

 

Prior to joining Key Patent Innovations, Florian Cordes has gained over 20 years’ experience as an attorney-at-law and in-house patent litigator.  He was responsible for over 1,000 patent litigations, including the two Sisvel vs. Haier landmark cases before the German Federal Court of Justice. His litigation experience covers classical national infringement cases and SEP patent enforcements, including coordinated pool enforcement actions. He has litigated before single national courts and in multijurisdictional litigations, as well as before several national courts at the same time.

 

Florian is a German Rechtsanwalt and Italian Avvocato and is admitted to the German bar in Hamburg since 2002. He studied law in Hamburg, Göttingen and Dijon and is member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR), the Licensing Executive Society (LES Germany) and the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI).
