Paul Riley is an intellectual property executive experienced in all phases of the IP life cycle: a USPTO-registered patent attorney, who has assisted clients in developing patent strategies, prosecuting patents worldwide, and strategically managing patent portfolios; a seasoned Licensing Executive, who has successfully negotiated and closed license deals with U.S., Asian and European companies in excess of US$600M; and a trial lawyer, who has represented clients of all sizes in intellectual property-related disputes, including trying numerous cases before judges, juries, arbitrators and the International Trade Commission. Paul is recognized as one of the world's leading IP strategists (IAM Strategy 300, 2017-2020).

Paul spent over a decade monetizing patents for IPValue Management, Inc. (a Silicon Valley-based IP consultancy), where Paul was a member of the company's executive team, with primary responsibility for overseeing the company's legal and litigation activities and leading and managing international teams responsible for closing license deals. Paul started his career as a trial lawyer and patent attorney, including a seven-year stint at the international law firm of Morrison & Foerster, where he represented clients ranging from Fortune 100 companies to smaller, rapidly growing technology companies, as both plaintiffs and defendants, in patent, trademark and license disputes.

Paul attended Tulane University as a Dean’s Honor Scholar, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering. Paul then moved to Washington D.C., where he worked at the National Institutes of Health (National Cancer Institute) while pursuing his law degree at the Catholic University of America, from which he graduated with honors.
